Mr Howard Peach
Mr Peach qualified in Medicine from the University of Bristol in 1989.He obtained his FRCS (Plast) on 11th September 2001 and then undertook a surgical oncology fellowship at the Sydney Melanoma Unit, Australia. He has worked as a consultant plastic surgeon in Leeds for the past 6 years, where he has a specialist interest in the management of Melanoma skin cancer and Soft Tissue Sarcomas. He has developed the sentinel node biopsy service for melanoma and an isolated limb infusion service for the Yorkshire Cancer Network. He is the Deputy Chair of the Yorkshire Cancer Network Site Specific Group for skin cancer and one of the main authors of the UK Melanoma Study Group guidelines for the management of melanoma.
His research interests include morbidity and outcome following lymph node surgery and management of loco-regional melanoma recurrence.
Dr James Larkin
Dr James Larkin is a Medical Oncologist at the Royal Marsden Hospital specialising in the treatment of melanoma. He took a first in Natural Sciences from Cambridge University and completed clinical training in Oxford and London. He undertook laboratory research at the Institute of Cancer Research and was awarded a PhD in 2005. His research interest is in the targeting of systemic treatment in melanoma according to tumour molecular characteristics. He works closely with Professor Richard Marais at the Institute of Cancer Research in order to translate advances in the understanding of the biology of melanoma into clinical trials for patients with this disease.
